Training & Placement Cell at Behara College of Engineering and Technology (BCET) is committed to providing our students with a well-rounded education that not only focuses on academics but also on their professional growth. Our Placement Cell plays a pivotal role in this endeavor by bridging the gap between academia and industry, ensuring that our students are well-prepared to embark on their career journeys and provides a platform that would enable them to excel in the corporate world. The Training & Placement Cell is dedicated to empowering our students with the skills, knowledge, and opportunities to excel in their chosen careers through Counseling and guiding of students, arranging project works in industries, industrial visits, industrial training during vacation, organizing campus interviews, providing job market information to students and necessary inputs to face the interviews, organizing Guest Lectures and Campus Selections, arranging industrial training for students, arranging industrial internships for faculty ,Organizing training programs on all the issues related placement activity.

We work tirelessly to create a robust network with various industries, enabling our students to access a wide range of career options and helping organizations to have an interface between various industries.

Functions of the Cell:

Collects and maintains the students database for the purpose of T&P activities
Does the training need analysis for all third year students. Basing on the same, plans for imparting the necessary skills such as soft skills, hard skills and technical skills.
Responsible for identifying placement opportunities across reputed organizations.
Arrange for interaction with industry and bridge the gap between Institute and industry
Arranges for better conduct of industry – specific Training programs
Assists companies in the recruitment process by conducting interviews, group discussions, written tests etc. in the Campus.
Arranges the special sessions for providing the contemporary trends and development in the technologies and tools to the students Plan, designs, and imparts Soft skills to the students.
Plan, designs and imparts personality development to the students.
Plan, designs and finishing schools to the students.
Coordinates with Training Officer for identifying the training requirements related to Soft and communication skills

Management of the Cell:

Committee composition

Committee consists of one senior faculty as a coordinator and one faculty member from each department and one student member from each section.

Role of the Coordinator:

Collection of data from each department (CSE, CSE-DS, ECE, EEE, MECH).
Determine all required placement requirements and assist all apprentice participants to exchange all information appropriately.
Prepare all resumes and conduct interviews with all students and provide assistance to all graduates and review all procedures of placement department.
Promote all placements of graduates to various prospective employers through phone, email and fax.
Managing the interviews held in the campus.
Inform the students briefly about the Training & Placement Procedure, without creating any ambiguity.
Determine all required placement requirements and assist all apprentice participants to exchange all information appropriately.

Role of Faculty Member:

Create awareness about “career planning" and "career mapping" among the students.
Train the students on “Personality development".
Organize Various Training Programs to train the students in the areas of Quantitative Aptitude, Logical Reasoning and Verbal reasoning through the reputed external training organizations and in-house trainers.
Train the students through Mock Interviews to perform well in the professional interviews as per the expectations of the corporate world.
Formulate and update the yearly calendar of events under the observation of Co-coordinator.
Report all the related activities to the coordinator.
Maintain the department data and update them to the coordinator regularly.

Industry Institute Interaction

Industry-institute interaction (I-I-I) is the most preferred activity for mutual benefit and growth of industries as well as institutions. Behara College of Engineering and Technology (BCET) provides the best platform for showcasing the best practices, latest technological advancements, and their implementation and impact on the industry. Also, BCET I-I-I promotes industry experts to participate in curriculum design which plays a significant role in preparing the students ready for the industry. Through I-I-I, industries can participate in technical education programs and cross-fertilize ideas for systems improvement. Teaching-learning processes can be improved by integrating industrial training to the students which also provides an exposure of the corporate world. Students should be encouraged to undertake the final year projects in the industry with a joint supervisor from the industry. BCET I-I-I promotes development of entrepreneurs which further leads to rapid industrialization and hence improved well-being of a country. I-I-I can also increase the research and development activities in both industries as well as institutions which further leads the nation to grow technologically and socio-economically.

Career Guidance and Placement Activities

Career Guidance:

Our experienced team of counselors provides students with career guidance, helping them make informed decisions about their future. Keeping in view of the ever changing industry trends in present day competitive world, the department is imparting required skills to the student’s right from Second Year onwards. Along with regular subjects, a separate session is allotted to each branch for training on Technical, Aptitude, Verbal and Soft Skills. Pre-placement training classes and coaching classes are arranged as a part of regular time table. Systematic and continuous pre- placement training from Second year onwards by expert trainers from External training agencies those are pioneers in their industry. Frequent mock tests on the aspects of pre-placement training are used to check the performance of the each student. Personality Development workshops by eminent motivators and industry experts. We conduct workshops, seminars, and one-on-one sessions to address their career-related queries and concerns

Placement Drives:

Training programs are held in four sessions. The College has a separate Training and Placement Cell, which organizes placement drives throughout the academic year, inviting top companies from various industries to campus. These events give students the chance to interview for internships and full-time positions with prestigious organizations.

Training Modules:

The shortlist of students is prepared based on their merit and the requirement of particular industry. The same list is sent to the concerned industries for their review and further shortlisted candidates are tested and interviewed in the campus.

Training and Placement Cell is tied up with Aspiring Minds,Co-Cubesand MeritTrac for assessing the skills of pre-final and final year students. Assessment Test will be conducted periodically and the results will be shared with major MNCs for their entry level hiring. These reports will also be used in internal training needs analysis for designing the Campus Recruitment Training curriculum.

Mock Interviews:

To help students prepare for real interviews, we conduct mock interview sessions. These sessions provide valuable feedback and build student's confidence.
