DEPARTMENT OF COMPUTER SCIENCE AND ENGINEERING

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering was established in the year 2006, since inception of the college, with an annual intake of 60 students for B.Tech. programme and subsequently the intake was enhanced to 120 in the year 2007 and to 180 in 2012. As on date the department intake for undergraduate (B.Tech.) is 180 and from the academic year 2020-2021 the department is offering undergraduate courses in trending specializations like Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning (AI & ML) and Data Science. Department also offers M.Tech. programme namely M.Tech. (CSE) with an annual intake of 18 seats in the year 2011 and the intake has been enhanced to 24 in 2014.

There is a lot of demand for computer professionals in the software industry, at the same time, there is a great need for quality education and training. This has resulted in modernizing the laboratories, updating the teaching learning process and exposure to the latest technologies. The department has a mix of both experienced and young faculty. Majority of the faculty members are actively involved in improving their educational qualifications and actively engaged in research activity. The faculty have been attending various seminars, workshops and training programs conducted by various reputed organizations. The college management financially supports the faculty members to enhance their skills by attending workshops, conferences and seminars conducted at the national and international level.

The CSE department has aesthetically designed computer laboratories accommodating 520 computer systems. All laboratories are air conditioned with a power backup of 125 KVA DG set to help uninterrupted functioning of the laboratories. Licensed Softwares like MS - Office, Oracle etc are made available in the laboratories. All the systems are connected through LAN Facility: 1 GBPS Network Connections.
