Department of CSE

The CSE Department of BCET was started in the academic year 2024-25 with an intake of 180 students. Currently the Department offers an under-graduate program (B. Tech) in Computer Science and Engineering with an intake of 180 students. The department has highly qualified faculty members with minimum M. Tech qualification in Computer Science and Engineering, Computer Technology and Software Engineering. Core courses include Programming Languages, Computer Architecture, Object Oriented Analysis and Design, Networking Technologies, Database Management System, Cloud Computing and Artificial Intelligence. With the support of excellent laboratory facilities, the faculties with an ever- look-beyond attitude are destined to bring forth engineers to rise up to the challenge for the automation of any industries by adapting agile technologies by providing latest content and the context. Department of CSE is committed to impart Technical & Research based quality education and to develop innovative skills among the students and to enrich the academic activities through continual improvement in the teaching and learning processes. The department also focuses on infusing confidence in the minds of students and to develop them as entrepreneurs.

It develops expertise for consultative activities by providing opportunities for industry–institute interaction. It is also committed to constantly upgrading the technical expertise for producing competent professionals to cater to the needs of society and to meet the global challenges. Much care is taken to involve the faculty in the development of laboratories and to take an active interest in counseling the students. The Department empowers the student in all aspects like Co-Curricular activities, Extra Curricular activities and sports by conducting various events through Clubs and Cells. Students are given training in various aspects like Communication, Aptitude, Technical and Programming cells to enhance their career opportunities. More number of programs are conducted to develop entrepreneur skills, attend competitive exams and choose appropriate higher education. Leadership and Organizational qualities are nurtured by conducting various events through students Association.

Significance of Doing Computer Science Engineering in India

Computer Science Engineering (CSE) is an academic curriculum that combines the fields of Computer Engineering and Computer Science, solving complex organizational problems using technical solutions. It is one of the most popular courses among engineering students. CSE is an enthralling and unique innovative subject that encourages students to pursue creativity and technology. The course covers a wide range of subjects while highlighting the fundamentals of computer programming and networking. Logic, algorithms, abstraction, and computability are only a few of the concepts covered in Computer Science. Including software engineering, networking, distributed databases, information processing, programming languages, and various other topics. Computer science is the process of solving complex organizational problems using technical solutions.

The reason this is such an important field is that computers and technology have been integrated into virtually every economic sector, industry, and even organization operating in the modern economy ,allowing students to work as Systems Analysts, Web Developers, Finance Programmers, Software Engineers, Product Managers, Game Developers, and other roles.

What is the difference between Computer and IT engineering?

The difference between Computer and IT engineering is that computer scientists design and develop the software programs that IT professionals use and maintain. A Computer Engineering degree helps the students to choose the correct design patterns, algorithms and data structures for programs, by using programming languages, usually C++, Python or Java. A professional software developer should know several other languages,including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, MySQL, PHP, Python and Java. The IT professionals must be very familiar with using operating systems and server software, including Linux, Apache, Open SSL, Windows Server, Oracle, MySQL, and Microsoft SQL Server.

Automation, machine Learning, AI, Data Science, Cyber Security and digital platforms are few of the recent breakthroughs in computer science that have broadened its reach.

PEO STATEMENTS
PEO1 To provide the graduates with solid foundation in computer science and engineering along with fundamentals of Mathematics and Sciences in formulating, analyzing, designing, modelling, programming and implementation with global competence and helps the graduates for life-long learning.
PEO2 To Promote collaborative learning and team work spirit through multi -disciplinary projects and diverse professional activities and prepare graduates with recent technological developments related to core subjects like programming, databases, design of compilers and Network Security aspects and future technologies so as to contribute effectively for Research & Development by participating in professional activities like publishing and seeking copy rights.
PEO3 To train graduates to choose a decent career option either in high degree of employability/Entrepreneur or, in higher education by empowering students with sustainable progress, ability to handle critical situations and training to excel in competitive examinations.
PEO4 To exhibit professionalism, ethical attitude, communication, managerial skills, teamwork, and social responsibility in their profession and adapt to current trends by engaging in continuous learning.

Graduates will have good and broad scientific and engineering knowledgebase so as to comprehend, analyze, design and create novel products and solutions for real-time applications.

PSO1 The Computer Engineering Graduates are able to understand, analyze and develop computer programs in the areas related to algorithms, system software, multimedia, web design, big data analytics and networking for efficient design of computer based systems of varying complexity.

Objectives Of Computer Science Engineering Laboratories:

Core Laboratory courses include Programming Languages, Computer Architecture, Object Oriented Analysis and Design, Networking Technologies, Database Management System, Cloud Computing and Artificial Intelligence. The students will be able to understand Hardware components and inter dependencies, Perform Hardware troubleshooting, Safeguard computer systems from viruses/worms, Document/ Presentation preparation, Perform calculations using spreadsheets. The students will be given hands – on experience and train them on the concepts of programming languages, usually C++, Python or Java and familiar with using operating systems and server software, including Linux, Apache, Open SSL, Windows Server, Oracle, MySQL, and Microsoft SQL Server.The students will be able to choose the correct design patterns, algorithms and data structures for programs in problem- solving and basic time/space complexity analysis.
